About the role

WhiteWater Marine is seeking a Marine Apprentice to join our team in Ashmore, QLD. This is a fantastic opportunity to launch your career in the marine industry through a structured apprenticeship programme. As a full-time Marine Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced technicians, gaining hands-on experience in marine maintenance, repair, and service work. This role is fundamental to developing the next generation of skilled marine technicians and will provide you with comprehensive industry training whilst contributing meaningfully to our operations.

Key responsibilities

  1. Assist experienced marine technicians in the maintenance and repair of marine vessels and engines

  2. Learn and perform basic marine mechanical and electrical tasks under supervision

  3. Support the preparation of vessels for launch, including safety checks and system inspections

  4. Maintain workshop cleanliness and organise tools and equipment appropriately

  5. Develop understanding of marine safety protocols and best practice procedures

  6. Complete assigned apprenticeship training modules and coursework as required

  7. Assist with customer service activities and communicate professionally with clients

  8. Gain practical experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting marine systems


What we're looking for

  1. School leaver or equivalent qualification, with English and Maths at a foundational level

  2. A genuine passion for marine technology and working with mechanical systems

  3. Strong work ethic, reliability and willingness to learn from experienced professionals

  4. Ability to follow safety procedures and work methodically in a technical environment

  5. Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  6. Physical fitness and the ability to work in various workshop conditions

  7. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

  8. A valid driver's licence is preferred, or to have suitable reliable transport to get to and from work place

  9. Commitment to completing a formal marine apprenticeship programme

10. Must be able to deal with workshop banter and take a joke.
